We transfer videotapes, scan motion picture film, and digitize 35mm slides using broadcast-grade equipment and a fully lossless workflow. We've earned a perfect five-star rating on Google by treating every project with individual care, whether it's a single VHS tape from a family in Eagan or a hundred reels of 16mm film from a museum in Saint Paul.

If you're in the Minneapolis, Saint Paul, or greater Twin Cities area, you can schedule a curbside hand-off and avoid shipping your irreplaceable media altogether.

Why Choose a Local Digitization Lab

Your tapes, film, and slides are irreplaceable. When you work with a local lab in the Twin Cities, you get the option to hand your media directly to the person who will be doing the work. You can ask questions, discuss your project face to face, and pick everything up when it's done. For people who prefer not to ship irreplaceable family media, that peace of mind is a big deal.

That said, we also offer free inbound shipping, and plenty of our local clients use it simply because it's easier to leave a package with their regular outgoing mail. Whether your tapes arrive by USPS or by hand, the process is the same: every tape is inspected individually, transferred on professional broadcast-grade equipment, and given personal attention from start to finish.

Not sure which option is best for your project? Call us at 651-366-0906. We're happy to help you figure out what formats you have, what condition they're in, and what approach makes the most sense.

We've Seen It All

Every family in the Twin Cities has a box of tapes somewhere. Maybe it's VHS recordings of the Twins winning the World Series. Maybe it's Super 8 film from a cabin up north in the '70s. Slides from the State Fair. A camcorder tape from a kid's first day at school. Whatever is on those tapes and reels, the memories they hold are worth preserving, and they aren't going to last forever on their own.

VHS tapes have a practical lifespan of about 20 to 30 years. 8mm and Super 8 film degrades as the dyes in the emulsion fade and the film base becomes brittle. Slides shift color over decades of storage. If your media has been sitting in a closet, attic, or basement since the '80s or '90s, now is the time to act. Every year you wait, a little more is lost.
